Does it hurt?

We’ll be honest, kybella treatments are a little uncomfortable. You’ll experience some mild burning at the injection site for about five minutes after treatment. However, the treatment is tolerated well by most people and the results are so worth a few minutes of discomfort.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects can include pain at the injection site, swelling, bruising, and temporary nerve injury. We provide ice packs immediately after the procedure to help reduce swelling. We’ll also provide you with a list of pre treatment tips and precautions that will help reduce bruising and swelling.

Kybella injections should not be used in pregnancy or when breastfeeding.

Pre-Treatment Tips

  • Schedule your treatment at least two weeks prior to events. Preferably 12 weeks to reach full effect.
  • Discontinuing use of aspirin, ibuprofen and other anti-inflammatories for at least 3 days, preferably a week, prior to your appointment will reduce the risk of redness and bruising. Please consult with your primary physician prior to discontinuing any medications.
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your treatment. This will significantly reduce the risk of bruising and swelling.
