The Ultimate Bridal 12 Month Skincare Timeline
One year from now, you’ll wish you started today.
Weddings are a big deal. So is your skin. While you’re planning everything from your venue to your vows, don’t forget the one thing that shows up in every photo—your face. How to get glowing skin before your wedding won’t happen overnight; it’s about starting early and following a proven wedding skincare routine.
Here’s your complete wedding skin prep timeline including exactly what to do and when.
12 Months Out: Start Smart
Goals: Target long-term concerns, lay the foundation for healthy-picture perfect skin, and building collagen.
What to do now:
Start with a consultation. We’ll create a custom wedding skincare treatment plan based on your goals (acne, pigment, texture, fine lines, etc.). Here are a few treatments we might recommend based on your key areas of concern:
- Sustainable, long-term results: Any bride wanting dewey skin on her wedding day and beyond should start with medical-grade skincare. This doesn’t have to be a 14-steps routine that takes 45-minutes and includes daily light therapy. Rather, ask your Aesthetic Provider to recommend a few high quality products that improve your key areas of concern.
- Clearing unwanted pigment and redness: Reducing or clearing pigment and redness can be tackled with a series of BBL Photofacial treatments. This light therapy treatment works to address the key causes of pigment and redness while also boosting collagen (the protein that makes your skin plump and fresh).
- Scarring or poor texture: Scarring from acne can cause uneven skin surface, poor texture, and unwanted discoloration. Microneedling or RF Microneedling can help treat and improve visible scarring or early signs of aging. Depending on the severity of your scarring, starting a series early in your journey to beautiful bridal skin is recommended.
- Poor skin volume or firmness: If you’re skin isn’t as firm as you’d like, the key is to build more collagen, this protein helps skin feel firm and have more volume. To kickstart the process we recommend a dermal filler, Sculptra, which works gradually to build collagen. Other dermal fillers include brands like Juvéderm and can be injected in the cheeks, lips, chin, or under-eye to give a more full, sculpted appearance.
- Fine lines and wrinkles: To smooth or eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, Botox is your best bet. It works for freeze the muscles that can cause skin to get folds or wrinkles while preventing new ones from forming. Results typically last 3 months so consistent treatments are recommended.
- Dewey, fresh-looking skin: To achieve that fresh, even looking skin, we recommend receiving monthly HydraFacials leading up to your big day. This relaxing procedure will help to hydrate your skin and give you a deep-clean feeling.
6–9 Months Out: Transform + Boost
Goals: At this point in your wedding skin prep journey, your goals likely include correcting any lingering unevenness, refreshing your skin, building collagen, and clearing any stubborn blemishes. If you started at the 12 month mark, you’re already starting to glow.
Focus on:
- Tone, texture, and brightness: Boost your Microneedling treatments by adding PRF every 4–6 weeks. PRF supercharges your skin’s natural healing and glow. Perfect for helping with tone, texture, and brightness before your big day. For your under-eyes, ask your Aesthetic Provider about the Bright Eyes Package to brighten, hydrate, and smooth this sometimes forgotten area.
- Lower face and neck skin tightening: Try Radiesse for areas with more moderate skin wrinkling. This collagen stimulator will subtly lift and firm overtime, giving you a tighter, younger looking appearance.
- Pigment or breakouts: Whether you are having acne flare-ups from the stress of planning a wedding, or have been a long-time sufferer, receiving light to medium Chemical Peels can help calm and even your skin in relatively short order, leaving you with a bridal glow.
- Consistently fresh and dewey skin: Monthly HydraFacials are a must as you near your big day. And for those looking to take it up a level, SkinVive will provide you with hydrated, glassy-looking skin (best when done at least 3 months before the big day).
3 Months Out: Lock in the Glow
Goals: Your wedding day is just around the corner and now is the time to maintain your wedding skin results. The key here is to focus on hydration and fine-tuning.
Plan on:
- HydraFacial + Dermaplaning every 4 weeks: By this time you’ve seen the benefits of getting monthly HydraFacials. Now is the time to lean in to your consistency and reap the benefits all the way to your big day.
- Final Microneedling or RF Microneedling: If you started with Microneedling about 9 months ago, it’s time for that last treatment. Ideally you’ll schedule this at least 6 weeks before your big day.
- SkinVive: If SkinVive was included in your treatment plan, you’ll want to make sure you receive your final treatment around the 3 month mark to ensure wedding ready skin.
1 Month Out: Calm + Perfect
Goals: Keep inflammation and stress low and address any last minute concerns for your bridal skin prep.
Book:
- Botox touch-up: Make sure to book your final Botox appointment about 3-4 weeks before your wedding so your Aesthetic Provider can make any last minute adjustments before the big day.

1 Week Before: Just Glow
