The Ideal Cosmetic Treatment Routine

Everyone can have absolutely flawless skin. Skin that’s perfectly smooth, tight, soft, hydrated, blemish free, skin that’s bright and glowing.

What if we told you it was easy and effortless? Well, we’d be lying.

Creating and maintaining healthy, beautiful skin requires time and energy. It’s a lifestyle. But it can be done!

Our skin is constantly under attack, so keeping it healthy requires a multi-pronged approach that includes a daily skin care routine with quality products that suit your skin type, proper diet and exercise, and of course consistent skin care treatments.

Whew that’s a lot, so today let’s talk treatments. For simplicity sake, we’ll assume you have unlimited time and resources to devote towards your skin. Okay? Perfect.

Here is the ideal esthetic treatment plan for creating and maintaining healthy, beautiful skin over time.

Facials

Regular facials are essential for cleansing and nourishing your skin. Facials cleanse your skin beyond what a simple face wash can accomplish by using advanced exfoliation and extraction techniques that remove dirt, grime, excess oil and toxins from your pores.

Immediately after a deep cleaning your skin more readily absorbs products and nutrients. So products applied during your facial are extra effective at addressing your skin’s needs that day, be it hydration, addressing acne or soothing irritation.

As an added bonus, regular facials enhance the efficacy of your at home skin care products.

Recommended Frequency – monthly

Primary Benefits – bright, clear skin that is cleansed and nourished

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a form of advanced exfoliation that work by applying an acid solution that raises the acidity of your skin. This loosens the cells that form the “glue” between dead skin and healthy skin. With that bond chemically loosened, the skin begins to peel as dead skin cells slough off and new skin cell growth is triggered. This process promotes the growth of new, healthy skin cells.

Recommended Frequency – 2 times per year

Primary Benefits – Reduced sun damage and hyperpigmentation, reduced melasma, less acne and breakouts, fewer fine lines, reduced scarring, overall enhancement of skin texture and tone

Botox

Facial wrinkles are formed through repeated scrunching of the skin caused by contraction of facial muscles. Keeping muscles relaxed alleviates existing wrinkles, and prevents wrinkles from ever forming.

Botox is a neuromodulator created by the pharmaceutical company Allergan. It lightly inhibits nerve impulses, and allows those facial muscles to relax.

It’s primarily used in the forehead, crow’s feet (smile lines just outside the eyes), and glabella (area between your eyebrows, also known as angry 11’s!) to alleviate fine lines and wrinkles.

Botox is the #1 cosmetic treatment in the world, because it’s amazing 😍.

Recommended Frequency – every 3 months

Primary Benefits – significantly reduced fine lines and wrinkles for smoother skin

Dermal Filler

Our skin naturally loses volume and elasticity as we age, which causes loose skin, sagging, wrinkles and can change the shape and appearance of the face.

Dermal filler is an injectable designed to replace lost volume. Our favorite type is HA filler. It’s a gel made of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in your body that holds 1,000 times its weight in water and is essential for hydrating and lubricating tissue.

Consistent filler treatment will restore lost volume for immediate lifting, plumping, and contouring that keeps your skin tight, soft and helps maintain your facial shape and structure.

Filler can also be used to enhance features, to create more shapely, plump lips, or a more pronounced and defined cheek!

Recommended Frequency – every 1 to 2 years, or as desired

Primary Benefits – enhanced facial shape and symmetry, well hydrated and plump skin, enhance facial features

IPL Photofacial

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. It’s a form of broad spectrum light therapy that uses light (a form of heat energy) to selectively damage skin cells in order to activate ‘healing mode’.

It’s incredible for treating pigmentation and boosting elasticity and tightness in the skin for maintaining a youthful appearance.

Recommended Frequency – once per year

Primary Benefits – reduced hyperpigmentation, enhanced complexion, tighter and smoother skin

Laser Skin Resurfacing

There are several types of lasers that can accomplish this, such as CO2 for intense resurfacing or Erbium Yag for light resurfacing.

Laser skin resurfacing uses what is called fractional technology to selectively injure a “fraction” of the skin, leaving skin around each laser point intact to allow quicker healing times. This triggers super healing mode, leaving you visibly younger looking skin.

Recommended Frequency – once per year

Primary Benefits – significantly reduced lines and wrinkles, improved texture, reduced brown-spots, and enhancement of the general appearance of skin
